Thanks for the help Guys. My Dad's dog ate a lot of seatbelts over the years. Yah, I know. He was a lot easier on that dog than he was on us. I believe this is the only original still in the car. Trying to put together a correct set. Love to know what all the numbers mean. My car 1969 GS 400 convertible built 5th week April 1969 Front buckets, Automatic on the floor Metallic Parchment interior Black seat belts, carpet, etc.
Here is one of mine from a 1970 GS 455 with deluxe interior that was built in January. Seat belt date coded 48A69. Others are 49A69 but I didn't pay attention to the model number. My assumption is 48th and 49th week of 1969 which is about 5 to 6 weeks before the build date.
Hello Dano. Hope you are well. Thanks. Can you decode the date code for me please. Couldn't find it in my By The Numbers book. Also do you know what the model numbers designate?
I think mine above was a rear seat belt...Quick search showed this thread with 4911 in the rear and 5901 up front. I can double check mine when I get home later tonight. https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1969-seat-belts-what-goes-where.237186/#post-1933495
Doing ok all things considered Marc. Hope all is well with you. Now that I think about it, I'll have to look up decoding these (seemingly I knew & forgot). I saw 16 & figured 16th week of '69 but now I'm questioning myself. I'll look in @Duane's date code book.
My driver front two lap belts and passenger belts with the buckles are 4901 and 4951. The retractables are 4901. The 4911 is my rear seat belt. my interior is bucket seats with auto console color brown with the deluxe interior with black belts.
This thread was very helpful. I searched last night but never came across this one. Thank you very much Utah. Marc.
