Hey Guys, I just finished the paint on my 56 special and now I want to have my lake pipes installed, do I need to have mufflers installed as well? I heard something about back pressure that is gernerated by having the mufflers is this true, please help!!! Thank you in advance, Mike
Are you also using a full exhaust?The only reason I could see somebody using mufflers is if they were planning on always using the lakepipes(loud).Not because of backpressure I always see old cars running open header,doesn't seem to affect them.Are you into the rockabilly scene?If so you should check out the Hootenanny in Irvine its in July or August I think.Car show area,live bands,food,and alot of fun.

That is a very slick car man! Are the lake pipes gonna fit under it with it so low? Go with the lake pipes *but* grab some of these to quiet it down a little.
Yes the lake pipes do fit, barely I went and looked at my car tonight, the lake pipes actually touch the ground when the bags air empty and the car is all the way layed out, so yes they do fit, barely, and it looks really good, I'll post some pictures when I get them. Mike
