Do 455 Head bolts go into water in the block?

    do 455 head bolts go into water in the block?

    No they do not. The exception would be if you have T/A Stage 2 heads and drilled the extra bolt holes. I believe some of the new holes go into the water jacket. Brian

    No they don't. If you drill the extra holes for alum. heads then they do.

    GM kinda goofed in their service manual....they say to coat the bolts with "Perfect seal". They musta been thinking Chevy.
    I did it the first few times, then stopped.
