the built version 200 is behind 9 sec regals it can handle it built its about as strong as you can get besides the 80e or alli 1000

hey they lived behind 13 sec cars stock that weighed just as much as most larks

The ad's I've seen for 'built' 200's require a stage 2/3 build to handle 400# of torque.
Has anyone verified that it will mate to a 'nail?
How much torque does a GNX make? Honestly I'm just a little skeptical. our DYNO had a tough time pulling back a nailhead and our oldsmobiles down to that kind of RPM. So I'm thinking that if they are making 350# AT idle and the torque curve is like Pikes Peak to 2800, that's a lot of muscle.
I know the GNX turbo cars had them. They also put down a lot of HP, just not sure the torque at low RPM.

it will bolt up with a adapter just like the 700 and built 200s can hold 800hp built 700s only hold 650. the 700 is a weak trannie probably the weakest of all the gm trans.

The TH700R4 is not the weakest (that would be the TH200C aircooled) but its far harder to beef up to take the power of a proper built TH200-4R. The GNX produced just a little more than the regular LC2.

Turbo cars build insane torque at low RPM's when the turbos come up remember they may be V6's but they only rev to like 6500rpm on the stock blocks though the Stage stuff is much stronger and will rev to 8000rpm. I'd run it no sweat unless I wanted to go insane on power and then I'd get a 4L80E, my contacts say that Megasquirt is about 4 months away from a DIY trans controller.

I also don't buy that it is weaker. I encourage you all to look over at web rodder and look at the article Doc wrote in comparison. The 700 has larger diameter, and thicker parts within it. Side by side, the 200 looks spindly.
I know I'm like the rest of you. Cant' afford to do it twice so Do it right.
And If I'm pumping 700HP at something, It aint gonna have an auto behind it.
    If it's a 700 Nailhead; there aint no WAY i'm putting an auto behind it. Can you say L E N C O!!!! :eek2:
Damn thing would NEED Toms rockers because I'd have to shift at 6 grand just for fun! :3gears:

I bet I could build something big and impressive and crap on the inside. Its the internal design that makes the TH200-4R superior. The TH700R4 is more previlant and Chevy only so the Chevy dominated world sees it first. If the TH700R4 was really better, why did GM replace TH700R4s with TH200-4R's in the late 80's 9C1 Caprices which were SBC powered? TH700R4 isn't bad its just not as good. Same could be said about the TH350 and TH400, lots of guys run TH350's behind big blocks but most people pick the TH400 because its markedly stronger internally.

I'm still putting a 4L80E in my Riviera own Megasquirt gets that trans controller on the market.
