Distributor Oil Well

    I am in the process of rebuilding the distributor on my 71 GS 455. It's going to be a stock rebuild. I have a new seal for the oil well but do not know what to put in the well before the seal goes in. Is it some special grease or some type of oil? I thought the service manual would tell me but it's not in the book. Thank you for any help.

    This well lubricates the top dist bushing.

    Distributor Lube

    Thanks to Dave Ray (Ignition Man) for answering my question. He sent the following on what to use in the distributor oil well.

    I use a silicone based waterproof wheel bearing grease. Both boat and auto parts stores have this type of grease
