I installed a cam in my 350 and want to recurve my dizzy, so i bought the mr gasket advance spring kit that came with a bushing and 3 sets of springs, gold, silver, and black. Could someone tell me which is lightest and heaviest? And how much does that bushing limit the mechanical adv? There were no instructions with the pack. Thanks

I have never used the Mr. Gasket kit, but I found this review on Sumitt which might help,

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-928g

Item contained 3 sets of springs, but no information as to which colored springs are Light, Medium, and heavy. I had to make a device to hang a 3.75 lb weight on them and mark the amount of stretch. I determined that Silver was the lightest, black was medium, and the gold was the heaviest/stiffest. There is slight length difference of the springs, but the black spring stretched less than 1/8" more than the silver, and the gold was less than 1/8" more than the black spring. Hope this helps the next guy.

As far as the bushing goes, I can't tell you what it is worth, but if you know how to use a timing light to measure total advance, you can just do a little subtraction to find out the difference it makes.

I've read your timing thread about 10 times over the years Larry and now finally going to try it out.
