:Dou: This is a response I received from an ebay disc brake kit vendor:
"If you have 14" rally wheels off a factory disc car they will clear our brakes. If you just have the stock drum wheels, they will most likely not clear. The worst that will happen is that you have to get 2 front 14" disc brake rally wheels to swap out to. Normally you can locate them on the web for a pretty cheap cost, many people are selling them. "
Can anyone verify this info? I didn't know that there was a difference in 14" wheels , drum vs disc?
If this is true, how do you ID a 14" disc rally wheel? :Dou:

I'm assuming that you have a '65 Skylark if you are using 14" wheels. Before you buy a front end disc upgrade kit, take a look at this thread on front discs for a '65 Skylark .
I plan to go this route as it keeps me in 14" rallye wheels, gets me disc brake stopping power and I don't need to do a lot of funky parts changes to me front end.
This means that I can switch back to stock original without a lot of hassle.

    I've got a '68 .
I looked at the thread and it's way too much machine shop work/chasing down pieces. I would like to just buy a kit and use my 14" wheels if possible. I still don't understand what the difference would be between a disc or drum wheel.
