Can someone tell me a safe way to plug the hole in my 455 block where the dip stick goes down into. I still want to be able to remove the plug to check my oil level when ever I need to. I'm having a small problem with oil blowing out of that hole!

    Thanks, Rick

If your blowing oil out that hole and then you plug it your going to be blowing oil out somewhere else soon after.
Try a new pcv valve, or add an additional breather to your valve covers.
If the motors got a bunch of miles on it, or hard driving you may have a ring issue.

    Is the motor together?
I drilled and tapped mine for 1/4'' NPT.....Mine is plugged but you can also install a ''pipe to tube'' thread adapter and make a dipstick tube that threads in and can be capped.

I forgot to mention the motor IS together so I can't drill and tap it for a threaded plug and I do have a breather in my valve cover on the same side the dip stick is. It only happens at high RPM's!

What's your oil pressure at those RPM's?

Hey Rick, not to change the subject, but those rear tire look perfect on your car. What are the wheel and tire sizes and backspacing?

I used a General brand knurled aluminum magnetic pick up. Worked so well and looked good so I went back and bought 2 more.

I think Ricks issues are with blow bye. When he's at the top of his RPM's the blower is making the most boost.......... Chances are like it was said, if you plug that hole, it's going to blow out somewhere else.... like your front dampner seal or your rear main. What I would recommend doing is adding a breather to your valve cover that has a nipple on it you could attach a hose to and run it to a catch can. That would contain the oil that's being blown out and not lead to other problems.......... You also may want to look at sticking a larger pulley on it to cut down some of the presure..... Just some thoughts.
