dipstick area leaking?

I have a puddle of tranny fluid under my car and I'm thinking it's coming from the dipstick tube. I looked at the area where the dipstick goes in to the tranny and found a big heap of silicone. Maybe someone before me had this problem and tried to solve it with silicone?

Anyway, I think I need the gasket/seal/sleeve whatever it's called for the dipstick tube. Where can I get it? It's a TH400 tranny.

be sure to inspect the tube for any cracking around where the o-ring sits . happened me once where it kept leaking

    Good advice.

To add to this, check behind the o-ring as well, I have one sitting in the shop with a split right behind the o-ring.

I have the best luck with just the o-ring and a little ATF. Skip the silly-kone :TU:

Just a little bit more info about this leak.

I have to park on a slight uphill grade. When I park with the front of the car at the "top" of the grade, the tranny leaks. If I back my car in, it won't leak. Could it be leaking from somewhere else in that area?
