hi, i am switching the power steering pump from my 64 wildcat to a pump from a 66 inorder to have it down to t he right similar to a 425...so that when i install my dual carbs i can see them better... does any one know if the alt belt sits on the front or rear pully on the 65/66... on my 64 it is on the pully in the front. the power steering is near the motor... on my new power steering pump from 66 it seems like the belt should be switched to the front and that i need a diff alt bracket to move the alt belt to the rear pully.. can any one send or post a pic????? thanks todd

You're welcome on the pics. Just glad to finally be able to help someone.

No dual carbs - yet. Have an offy at home but it won't fit under my hood. Currently looking for a factory dual quad setup.

Correct, all steering has been moved to the right hand side (as you sit in the car). Brakes are still on the left but are operated from the pedal which (obviously) is on the right.

    Nice pictures, Bill.
I spotted that inline filter you're using and thought that I should warn you about them.
Those kind are notorious for starting engine fires. :stmad:
It happened to me once and burned a '69 Coronet R/T 440 to the ground. :ball:
I've swore off of them ever since. :Smarty:

Yeah, I was aware of that and mentioned it to the salesman. He grabbed the filter and started smashing it against the counter and told me that they now use pyrex which is toughened glass.

Is that the concern or is there something else I should know?

Not really sure what the cause was in my case.
I'm not really an experienced arson investigator. :puzzled:
I just think that a fully sealed unit is far much safer than something that can disassemble. :Brow:

Ok, I'll look into a high flow unit that's made from steel. Thing is that the only filters I can normally get down here are for small cars with puny engines and straw-like fuel lines. Unless I go for a high dollar Moroso unit or something similar (which often require braided lines and fittings) then I'm kind of stuck. Maybe I'll check at the local Truck spares store.

For factory dual quads for sale:

    Jerry Salley (559) 658 2993

Saw them at Flint with custom low air cleaner. Nice I think he had a couple.

    no sweat

I see in the pictures of your engine a lot of good clean parts.
such as the timming cover, pump ,brackets , so I suggested
that You paint the block and componets and if you need to make a little more time in the garage, Some flowers! always help to smooth over....
    from other obligations.
