Did you see Dave Despain mention the news about E-town?

Did anyone catch the news about E-town, Dave Despain mentioned on his "Windtunnel" program. Of course, the people that are buying these houses near E-town don't realize there is a racetrack in their backyards(Duh).

From what I heard, there is a curfew that is being instated for 10:00 p.m.

If something like this goes through,it will mean that all tracks will probably be run this way in the future.

My local drag strip MoKan at Pittsburg,KS had a noise lawsuit filed against them several years ago. They are way out in the middle of farming country with nothing around them.

A big shot from Springfield,MO bought the farm across the road which had a duck lake and cabin on it.He only spends a few weekends a year there but he tried to get a 10 pm noise curfew imposed on them.

The lawsuit drug on for years and the drag strip finally won,but it cost them alot of money.

    Fair is fair.

I have seen many examples of Agriculture & Heavy Industry impose their respective by-products (smell, noise & pollutants) on their surrounding communities. So, shouldn't Race Facilities be afforded the same privileges? Fair is fair.
If Agriculture & Industry use the "we were here first" logic in courts of law & prevail then Race Facilities should be able to use the same logic.

The 10PM curfew has been around for as long as I can remember. It was also brought up on RealOldsPower.com. See just before I moved to California. There was another stink being made about the track, it happens almost every election year................politicians way of getting votes. But the track has been around way longer than these mansions built. And the owners have a local councilwoman on their side which really helps out. The county people had a few county meetings already about it back in Aug. So many people showed up for the meeting to lend support that people were lined up outside. But not too worry, they ain't going anywhere for a long time. So its bascially nothing new at all

That's a very good analogy Larry!! :TU:

There's one of those liquid manure farms about 5-7 miles from my parents house. On a clear night....the smell works its way over there. :pp

It's no more fair to ask those folks to shut down their operations, than it would be to hassle E-town.
