I have a 9" ford diff. with 3.50 gears in my 85 Regal that I soon will be installing a JW 470 stroker BBB in. I understand the limitations of the locker rear end when cornering around town because I drove the car with this diff. for a year before I pulled the V6 out this summer. I plan on taking some road trips with the Regal in the future and would like to hear from anyone who has used the Det. Locker and done highway driving with it. I am running Hoosier Quick Time tires 275 60 15, tire width 10.0" and diameter 27.5". My trans is a beefed up Vince Janis 200R4. Can this diff. be used on the highway without adverse wear on axles and tires ? Papa Roger

This is what I need to know, I really didn't want to change what I have. Thanks for the info.

I once owned a 71 Mach 1 with a factory Detroit Locker. Other than the occasional clunk and bang, which was normal, it never gave me any problems. I drove the bejesus out of that car too.
