Any tips? I think the chrome is plastic so don’t want to be too aggressive. Also thinking of putting a Sun II tach in place of the bezel under the dash. Ever done? Also the insert. So far using a wire brush. thanks
Yup, it's die cast and even when they were relatively new they became pitted. The one I did for my 64 was in pretty decent shape except for the those ribs. Since I'm not worried about originality I modified that area. I sand blasted that area, sanded it, and filled it with two part epoxy. Then I sanded that nice and smooth and installed a 3M wrap that looks like brushed aluminum. Turned out nice for my purpose and has a little more modern look to it. Chroming is possible by one or two places in the country, but I was told it would be "Thousands" of dollars! Steve
That's a Holley GPS speedometer. I have Holley stand alone digital dash, but I wanted redundancy with the odometer.... just to be safe.
