I shredded the race on my '69 Riviera so I purchased a rear wheel bearing set from Cars Inc.. The race pressed on nicely, but the retaining rings are .004 inch too large and will not press on... they just slide on and off. They tell me they haven't dealt with the supplier in years and they're not even sure if they're still able to get any more rear bearing sets in the future... waiting on a return call, not holding my breath. I don't know of anybody else who is selling these. Anybody out there face a problem like this before? Is there anything close that may fit or which could be modified? Or will it have to be fabricated? Thanks. Also, machine shop says don't use the old one because it was distorted.
