    You are almost there

1818 would mean the carb was manufactured on the 181 day in the 1978 calender year. You have a Stage 1 over the counter replacement carb. If it was made and installed at the factory, the last number would be either a "0" (for early 71 model) or "1" for late model 71. There would also be a two letter code that followed the 7041242. The two leter code changed each year and would have a "MD". The carb was supplied with the 71 Stage 1 specs. Dan:Smarty:

AtlantaBuick was back up, operational and upgraded within the last 6 months. it seems like it comes and goes somewhat infrequently. i know it's been 'up' at least two different times since i registered here.

Cliff the 71 Stage-1 7041242 goes for a bit less than the 70 Stage-1 carb. Maybe about $400-500. What is the date code on it? I have a 7041242 that was NOS (1974 build)and is little used if you would consider somekind of partial trade?

I found the following carbs this morning, here are the numbers:

    7040240 3249
    7040247 2419
    7041242 2180

We don't sell cores, all units are completely/correctly rebuilt, with zinc/chromated casting and plated small parts.

Anyone interested in any of these units, we can be reached thru our website at: cliffshighperformance.com

Sorry, couldn't post a link, not enough responses to date.

Our email and shop phone number are listed on the site...thanks...Cliff
