You guys had an excellent topic last year discusssing the accessory codes on the bottom of the firewall tags for 1967 cars. That thread (here ) answered all of my questions about the accessory codes on the firewall tag of my 1967 GS 400 convertible, except one. The codes on my tag are: EXF 2Z 4FC 5KY I learned that it breaks down as: E - all tinted glass X - Power Windows F - Power seat 4-way Z - 400 THM transmission F - Remote Mirror C - Ext Belt Reveal moldings K - ?????? Y - Deluxe Seat Belts The previous thread never mentioned a K in group 5. Anyone know what the K means? The only other options that I notice on my car that are not already described by one of the other letters are these: Power Disc Brakes (including Chevy style Rallys) Power Steering AM Radio Clock positraction rearend aux lighting (glovebox, ashtray, trunk) The car is Blue Mist, white top, dove (off-white) bench seat interior, built at Kansas City plant 1st week of '67 If you know what the K represents please let me know.
I don't know if you ever figured this one out or not, but I can tell you what mine has that your's has...and I don't have a letter K. So probably not that. o No: I have the same options from your list: Power Steering AM Radio Clock Aux Lighting. That only leaves you with Power Disc Brakes and Posi Rearend. That is a smaller list anyway!!! Good Luck :TU:
meaning of "K" I found out that the K means door edge guards. I hate door edge guards on any car, (only thing worse on a muscle car is a tissue dispenser, just my opinion guys, no offense intended to you guys that might need one due to a runny nose or lots of tears :ball: ) so I was really disappointed to learn that is what the K means! I think I might have a set of NOS guards, but not sure if they will ever be installed if I ever do the much needed restoration on the car.
Gary, I started that orginal thread. I also have PS and PDB but I don't see any codes that match up between our two plates that would be those options. Actually I just reviewed my material from 2 years ago and I don't think PS or PDB were coded on the data plate. The codes all seem to refer to body and interior options. Harvey
