Whats up Buick fans? My father just acquired a 70 Skylark Custom convertible packing a transplanted in 455. :beer The cowl tag reads: ST 70 44467FLI 258438BDY TR 175 28 A PNT 05C Am I correct in believing that this means it was originally diplomat blue with a pearl white interior and a white convertible top? Is that a deluxe or custom interior? Currently the seat covers and door panels are a peculiar gray color that doesn't look anything like the pictures of pearl white interiors that I've seen on here. Also does anyone know what color the carpet should be? It has a black carpet now, and the convertible top looks to have been dark blue that someone painted black. Any help is appreciated.
Looks like Diplomat Blue, White Top, Bench with fold down armrest pearl white interior. Carpet should be Black along with the dash pad and steering wheel. If I'm wrong someone let me know :beer
Sounds right to me Chis I saw a red 72 stage 1 conv years back, with white top & Int.....everything else was black (maybe not the wheel). :bglasses:

You're getting better, Rob! FLI is actually FL1 and yes, it's Flint assembly. 258438 is the Fisher Body number, which has no relation to the serial number (VIN) of the vehicle.
Thanks guys. It's probably gonna get a white interior put in it but I think theres something odd/non-original about the seats and upholstery in there now. These are the only interior pictures I have of it right now:
Sister ship!!! Wow, same original color, interior including trim code, and assembly plant as my '70 Skylark Custom ragtop, only mine was built 5 months earlier. Mine also received a '71 interior for some reason at some point in its life............ Those front seats are wide, no headrests, look like maybe from a full-size car, early/mid sixties....... Oh and all '70 Skylark (& GS) convertibles came with the 'Custom' interior....
Thanks guys. I posted this question under the thread "TR 175 interior code" in the Interior City section and I think Duane in that thread hit the nail on the head. I looked at a few pictures of 64-65 Impalas and Grand Prixs and the buckets they have look to be the same general shape with the ~3" wide metal strip that goes up the sides and over the top.
