Decode a Small Block Chevy Please

    I know, its a chevy, please don't hate me but I need to know what this is for sure

    numbers on back of block...3782870 2GM

    on front (what I could read anyway)..B160298

    Thanks for any help I can get on this. :TU:

    The 3782870 comes back as a 1962-1965 327 with HP ratings from 250 to 375, 2-bolt mains.

    THANKS!!...thats what I was hoping, engine had double hump ( the big ones) heads....no accy bolt holes...I was hoping this engine was a complete 327 and not some pos with nice heads....thanks again!

    James - If you or anyone you know, needs a set of 461's - give me a shout....I've got a set for sale. I believe the casting was from April of '65.
