I finished converting to the beloved Jeep Gr Cherokee steering box the other day. Nice, three turns instead of four. But also an improvement in precision because of the new and bigger rag joint.

Had problems, though, getting in touch with Lee mfg was not sucessful from my part of the world (Sweden). So I could not get hold of the conversion inserts needed. The low pressure hose was easily converted from 45 degree flange to o-ring seal by just simply cutting off that connector from and old scrapped hose (this case: my Jag) and just use clamps.

High pressure side is more difficult. Most swedish hose shops don't make steering pump hoses for cars from scratch and my safest bet in the vicinity had to close over summer due to a large burglary. Talk about bad luck there.

We simply made a copy of Lee's insert and it works fine. If any swedes out there need help, I might be able to assist you.

I read somewhere about the old '69 steering pump being too weak for the closer ratio box. No problem at all with that, not even with 245/45-18 tires.
