I have significant carbon build-up on my 350 exhaust valves. I also have significant leak-down on a few of these cylinders.

What is the most effective way to remove the carbon from the valves assuming they are removed from the heads. If they have not been seating properly, should i assume these have been damaged?

    Thanks for your patience.

You can always get a motor-vac done in order to remove the carbon in your engine if you don't want to remove the heads? This would probably be the easiest way of going about this.
