Would South Side Machine traction bars fit in this category or would they have come out later than Day 2?

I am thinking about doing the same thing to my 68 except I got M/T headers instead of the Hookers; Edelbrock aluminum valve covers instead of the KB's and a Stinger S4 set up instead of the Mallory. I also have the Fly Eye air cleaner (picked it up for $20 at a local swap meet!). I also bought one of the repro Sun Super Tachs but it quit working after about 3 months and I think they have stopped making the repros now.

Holy crap John! You've been busy I see. Looks like a vintage speed shop exploded in your spare room. Funny, the parts go really well with the vintage 70's wood paneling in that room:laugh: All you need is something like a Partridge family poster up on the wall to complete the look

Not sure how long "Day 2" lasts, but my car was modified in the early 80's (or maybe even earlier) and has a lot of these things, like the aftermarket carb and intake and ignition, hooker headers, kenne bell cam and stickers, sanyo stereo, Sun tach, B&M Shifter, rear deck carpet, etc.

Did any of you guys see the "American Pickers" episode where they went to Birmingham, AL and picked a now-closed vintage speed shop? The place is called Rocco & Cheaters Speed Shop and is only a short drive from my house. The show aired a couple of years ago so I figured by now it was cleared out. I decided to see for myself (plus get a photo of my 68 in front of it) so last summer I drove out there. The placed was still loaded with vintage stuff! The very best stuff may have been picked over but there is still a lot of cool stuff there. I have been in touch with the one surviving brother and his son-in-law and have had them check on a few things for me. Sorry, no 4-bolt flange M/T headers! I am still trying to get them to let me in the place but no luck yet.

Here is a vintage photo of it and a picture from last summer of my 68 out front... Plus a picture someone (not me) took inside. I looked through the windows and it looked very similar to this inside photo when I was there.

If I'm not careful, things will start following me home like you! As for the Partridge Family; haven't seen any episodes. I did watch a lot of Dukes of Hazzard reruns though. :Brow:

that's very cool. look at all the vintage mag wheels in the background. Wonder if they have some NOS pairs of 4 " Cragar ss, or Keystone Kustomags in there?

John, my favorite part in your picture is that C3 Corvette L88 Hood Section up against the wall.

I had intentions of using it on my former Camaro. My brother still has the car, but the scoop will probably just end up going down the road at some point. I'm pretty sure it's an aftermarket scoop; maybe A&A? It's green fiberglass on the underside.

Don't forget about painting the brake drums flouescent orange, red, blue, or green! Mine were orange and still are on one 68 Dodge.

Ha! I was going to mention that but didn't know if it was just a regional thing. I went as far as to paint one side green and the other orange. Then did the same with the gas tank down the middle. Lasted about one summer.

Wow, I thought the '69 Chevelle that's at the shop right now was a one hit wonder ... it has a bright yellow frame with various suspension, steering and brake parts painted both green and orange.
