i have in my possession(sp?) a pair of exhaust manifolds from a 1970 jeep wagoneer that had the buick "dauntless" v8 350 in it...i haven't found a wealth of info on this engine, but i'm going on the premise that it is the same engine in our beloved buicks...

    is this the case?

i have the casting numbers on those manifolds if anyone has run across a similar situation: 1236336 and 1234655.

the manifolds look the same, although i haven't seen the ones on my car (68 special) either off the engine or with it pulled, so...

also, as a side note, any suggestions/pitfalls for removing stock manifolds (one is cracked) with the engine in the car? is it doable?

    thanks,
    :blast: scott

    don't know

I don't know about the numbers, seems someone should, you might try posting on the bench and asking aobut manifold numbers. Removing the manifolds should not be a problem...but you need to look and see if you can get to each bolt and if you have room. If you have AC, etc that may need to be moved. The worse part will be getting the bolts loose. Soak them real good with liquid wrench, Kroil, etc. use heat and take your time. Do a search on this site for nuts, broken studs etc and you should find more advice!

    good luck - Bill
