Ok, I have a 72 Skylark convertible and I have my engine and battery out of the car and I am hooking up a tach, MSD 6, aftermarket mechanical gauges and a CD player. Can someone tell me what the colored wires mean. I believe that yellow is switched 12 volts since my AM radio was hooked up to it. What is red? I have the idiot lights and no clock or factory tach so I have a couple of unused plugs hanging around that I would like to tap into to get my constant 12volts and my switched 12 volts for all my new goodies! Thanks Tim
Yellow is switch accessories. The 12 ga. red is lights. Pink is ignition but stock it is a resistor wire. If you send me your email address I can send a wiring diagram in .pdf The file I have is too big to attach here.
I am going through the same process, Looking to find switched power sources to run accesories if you could send me the .pdf also that would be great. Thanks, Kevin kbellerose@midmaine.com
Here you Tim. Link: http://www.buickland.com/index2.htm Although these are for 1970 Most wires are the same. Hint: 4300 part "B"
