    Question for everybody:
I have a 66 Wildcat with a dove interior, and black carpet, console, steering column, and dash board.
What would you guys suggest for the black paint color code for the dash and steering column? Also, what primer would you suggest? I would prefer to use spray paint, but would go to an automotive paint dealer to have is mixed (not Krylon). There is a Sherwin-Williams dealer not far from me that I would most likely use.
I currently have the seats , dash pad, and carpet removed, for recovery and replacement, and would like to refinish the dash and column while it is stripped.
I can't tell, due to the age, if it was originally a high-gloss black, or a semi-gloss black. I want to keep it as near to original as possible.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,

    Steve,
I have some 1966 paint chip charts from Dupont.....The code 88 black used in the interior is described as a 'semi-gloss-flat'.....The footnote reads:

" Unpolished LUCITE will generally produce a gloss comparable to original semi-gloss finishes."

LUCITE was Duponts trade name for their Acrylic Lacquer.

I recently repainted the interior on my '66 Skylark GS. Even tho I have all the necessary spray equipment, I chose to use spray-can gloss black lacquer from Plasti-cote. It produced a nice finish that wasn't too glossy. IMO, it's a good match for the original.
