In preparation for a cosmetic restoration on my non-air 70GS I purchased 2 complete dash bezels so I could have the best 1 rechromed and ready when I made the switch. One came off a 1972 with air and has a part number 1213083. I assume that when I switch to my non-air setup that the bezel for the non air vent will fit in the same cutout where the current air vent is now, is that correct?
The second bezel was in excellent condition but has a fixed Buick trishield emblem where the vent outlet should go. It matches the Buick trishield that is on the right hand side of bezel but is not removable. The gauge housings are dated 1971. What kind of GS did this come in?

Mr. G's the place to go for rechroming?

    Thanks in advance!

    Tom

    Tom,
The bezel that does not have a vent on the LH side is not from a GS but is from a Skylark sedan that does not have A/C. My black '72 sedan has a bezel with no vents. It is my understanding that any car with vent windows (2-door sedan, 4-door sedan, or station wagon) and no A/C would get this style of bezel. If it is in decent condition and you decide to sell it let me know, I might be interested.

We did not have good luck with Mr. Gs years ago and have never tried them again. Maybe they have improved now...

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I used Mr G's for the last 5 cars I did....excellent results...going to ship him another set of plastic for rechroming. Here is a pic of the last cluster he did.

Hey George, How much do they charge, and do you have to do the black or do they take of that as well? TIA

    70-72 dash bezel

There is a company in Vision British Columbia Canada called CV Vaccum Plating that does plastic chrome and charges $200 to do a dash. They have a web site and list their services, pictures and prices good luck Bill
