My trunk light wire (70 Skylark) is dangling a few inches precariously below the drivers side hinge, can someone tell me how/where it is normally secured?

I can get a photo tomorrow if I need to to show the problem.

Usually a small metal clip holds it to the hinge

huh. That's weird. My trunk light is mounted with a bracket to the hinge housing and actuates by an arm that moves in and out with the trunk opening and closing.

Here's a pic of mine. Taped into the tail lamps harness and then that whole thing is clipped into the chassis. Normally I have it all inside that late model convoluted plastic wire loom. upload_2018-9-25_16-53-11.png

Its not that far off. There should be two clips on that hinge so the wire curves with the hinge

I'll take a look this week and see what I can do with it. Thanks for the help
