Car was at the school compound while the engine was getting pulled. I was going to pick it up in three days when the school and the RCMP (police) phone my house asking if I owned the red '69 Buick in the compound. It seems someone took a high powered rifle to my car. Put a couple through the trunk deck and windshield. It looked like they took a chunk out of one of the rusty quarters and taking a nice chunk out of the inner wheel well. Well at least I know now I have rust in the wheel wells. I dont know... I think I'm going to give up trying to fix this skylark. Dad and I will rebuild the engine over the winter for something to do while I part this car out. I cant afford the body work and it's too big of a project for me at this time. I'll be checking to verify that the rear end is a 12 bolt posi and how good the rest of the parts are. Whatever I dont sell here with be 'given' away on ebay. I'm going to rebuild my high compression 350-4 and then sell it.
Well everyone is this city calls each other hicks. Besides... who else would get drunk and start shooting up a car on school property surrounded by houses. The only reason I want to give up on this car is because I didnt think when I bought it. I spent ALL my money at the time to buy the car ($700 CDN) and it's WAY to much for me to handle/afford. I'm going to keep the engine until I finished rebuilding it then I'm going to sell it. If anyone needs parts let me know. The trunk deck is toast but I DO have a spare and the windshield is toast although I KNOW where a spare is! ORIGINAL 1969 GLASS TOO! DAMNIT!
Sorry to hear about that. Give it a few weeks before you make the final descision. BTW, I didn't know you had hicks in Canada, I thought that was restricted to the U.S.
I agree- don't make the desicion in a hurry. Personally I'd keep the car. If you decide not too, see if you can't sell the car whole at least oh, and I almost forgot- why are most people such JERKS?? If they are not ruining something you are trying to make nice, they're ruining things that are already good. What kind of low life sonofa%!^@& does something like shoot another person's car?? Damn! I can't think of what I might do if this happened to me, but I can also guarantee that if I could locate the dog kissing mouth breather, he'd get a ride in an ambulance helicopter, regardless of his owning a rifle. And I don't even like violence all that much. There should be no law against the person who did this getting punched in the mouth after he pays for repairs.:af:

Better yet these are the same kind of people who shoot at BC Hydro power facilities and then bitch when the power is out for days while we remove bullets and replace vital equipment.

Dude, that sucks. If it makes you feel any better I was a victim of vandalism yesterday. Some Jacka** walked up to my driveway gate, picked up a large rock out of my flowerbed and chucked it at the back of my Dodge. I was outside most of the day, doing yardwork, and had gone inside for an, umm pitstop. I was in the bathroom for maybe 10-15 minutes when it happened. Someone has to have a real set of brass cajones to do something like that. My garage door was open and the radio was on so it was obvious someone was home. Lucky for them, I wasn't outside. I would have wound up in jail and they would have been in the hospital. :spank: The damage amounts to a dent under the taillight and some scratched paint. The truck is my work beater so the damage doesn't bug me too much, but the principal of the whole thing does. If it had happened to one of our Buicks or my Toyota there would have been shots fired.:af: What posesses someone to do something like that? I assume it was an adult since all the kids are still in school (unless they were cutting class). I don't have any enemies, don't owe anyone $ and my neighbors are cool with me.
