He's the owner of Beech Bend (home of the GS Nationals:TU: ) http://www.bgdailynews.com/articles/stories/public/200405/08/0dod_news.html Ronnie
I think its all a ploy.....between Jones and his neighbor Baker Expect to see a $8 toll booth on the newly paved road on your way to the trackou: Ohh....and if it rains, bails of Hay will cost $75 for the Vendors :af:
Looks like it's BIG news in BG. Is that the road that we "heat em" on the way out of Beech Bend? Bruce
I went down to Bowling Green right after Norwalk, so I could leave my truck and trailer at Beech Bend between the two races and fly home from Nashville. Dallas let me leave my stuff out at the campground next to the track and said that any other Buick guys that wanted to do the same, could also do so...no charge! I've been going to the Nats in Bowling Green since '88 and any time I ever needed ANY consideration whatsoever, Dallas has come through for me. On a couple of occasions, when I had been working on my car all day and hadn't gotten a run all day for that reason, he let me take a run after the staging lanes had closed for the day. I hope he kicks that guy's a$$ in court and gets this nonsense over with! When I was dropping my rig off last week, I saw two signs at the split in the road, one saying "Beech Bend Raceway straight ahead", and the other saying "Gate Ahead - Private Road"! I was laughing as I drove into the campground along the tree-lined "old way in". I've seen some of the guys on the board say some things about Dallas and questioning how much of a priority the GS Nats is to him. All I can say is....Don't say that stuff in my presence, because I will "strongly" disagree with you! :spank:
Doug Even though I don't attend anymore I have to say from years of going since 1984 through 1998 and from what I have seen and heard about Dallas, I have to agree with you 100 percent! Nothing more I can add as you hit it all:TU:
There ya go.... I meant on the road outside the two lanes. Andy Livermore was pouring Miller Lite on the tires and people were getting out of their cars to watch. Road looked like zebra stripes the next day. Remember the burnout contests at the motel....real early on the goal was to pop a tire....burn till you pop at the Ramada. Bruce
