Sealant on cyl head gaskets? I am getting ready to put my cylinder heads back on my 425 nailhead. I recently got a new pair of good quality head gaskets. I've Replaced Many Head Gaskets And Never Used Any Sealant. Very Important To Have The Threads Clean On The Block And Make Sure The Head Bolts Are In Good Shape, Otherwise Replace Them.
Depends on the type of gasket. Steel shim gaskets should get a coat of Permatex Copper Spray Gasket. Composite gaskets need no sealant. Devon
