Where would someone get a kit to make a set of headers for a street rod. Looking for Stage2 ,2 1\8in tube diameter. Would a big block chevy kit be a good start with the buick flanges?
Dave When I made a set for a chassie car I got the chevy big block kit from summit and used a stage 2 flange from TA,with some trial and error and cutting of the pieces it went together well.I tack welded it in place then took it to a welder for a mig pro job.If you need a flange I have one. gary
   A street rod now huh ? okkkkkkkkkk. BBC weld up kit and the flanges from TA is what I have heard too. A stg. 2 in a light street rod would be a BLAST !!! :3gears: :3gears:
what front end do you have? If you have other than stock steering ta headers may fit I built a 54 with a small block and used chevelle headers with minor mods I also own a 49 ford coupe with a g body clip and the ta's with 2 1/8" fit with very little persuasion the only bad part is the center header bolts what a bitch! : :  :
I plan on using the stock frame. I figured I would have to take the exhaust thru the wheel wells to get the look I am thinking of with the lakewood sidepipes. I am thinking of doing 50's style shop truck. My father-in-law's parents use to own a gas station back in the 50's I think it would be cool to use the station's name and original phone # on the side. I am trying to find out if it was a texaco or something like that. He cannot remember what type of station it was because he was about 6 or so when they closed it down. Plus I am going to surprise this on some of the family so I try not to ask too many ?'s
Now that would be straight up COOL Dave. Let me know if you need some parts help. I think I know where there are a couple 6 of those style pick ups. Just parts though.
This project is in planning only. I am working on acquiring the pickup from my wife's grandfather sometime this year. Hopefully it will be my winter project next year.
