Just though I would share this with you. This is my new setup and I think I like it. What do you think? I know it would run better if they were ducted to the front for so cooler air but I didn't want that much clutter under the hood on a street car. Anyone know what the parts came off originally? It's easy, there Buick factory parts!

How do I put this delicatly,,,, I think that you may be restricting your carb intake,,, because you need a min of 3 or so in. above the top of the carb for good intake....:Do No: :Do No: just keep working on it to get it perfected....looks good ,,,, wonder how it would do with one on each side????
looks very similar to the bonnet that went on the supercharged 57 Thunderbird....

yep, i thought of it,,,, but the heat will give increased gas mileage.....:idea2: just did not want to throw water on his fire... wanted to turn on his brain to make it better.... heck, he probably likes it just the way it is and there is nothing wrong with that,,,, every body dont want all the power that you can wring out of an engine....:Brow: :Brow:

Well Guys you are all right. The parts come off of turbo regal with carbs. The filters over the exhaust is a bad idea but there really no room to do anything else and have it look clean. Doc, I understand about the air flow but the car runs good and there is no room at all for more. You may notice in the pics that the front plenum is shorter than the rear. I had to section the base and remove 3/4" just so the hood will close. I don't know what everyone else is using for air filters but that eelco intake on a skylark leaves absolutely no room for air cleaners. The air cleaner in my avatar looks sweet but the hood is not even close to closing.

Hummmmm, that do make a difference......had to section one to get clearance ,huh, Well if that were a single intake i would know just what to do, a holley carb isnt as tall as a carter....:Brow: :Brow

I would be a bit worried about all the weight to one side worning out the thread in the carbs.... or are there some sort of extra brackets?

No offense but....are you serious? What thread, the center rod that the cleaner bolts to? Don't worry, be happy :)
That's a nice way to add filter area to the duals. Some silicone adapters and aluminum piping, 4" diameter and better placement of the filters could get them away from the heat a bit better if there is room. Very nice anyways!

Yes, I'm serious... here we do have an issue with LPG-arms attached to the carb... Lost the original thread on one Q-jet already:

Above photo was situation before I changed to another mixer (LPG carb); from Impco 300A to Impco 425. Better performance and able to add the original air cleaner again. LPG likes cool air, so I took a snorkel from a spare and made this one a dual.
