    i Believe its around 2400?

Only thing id change would be 35 splines with a S trac if you plan for serious power
weak link in a 9in is the pinion support, so make sure you get the best that currie offers

    Street rear ends

IF you are mostly 75% or higher street you are in the stock rebuilt rear category. The street will NEVER have the hook as a well prepped race track. A well built 8.2 8.5 will do the job just fine.

I would say to most putting of the parts /Assembly is 90$% of keeping the rear together.

As long as you use aftermarket ring and pinion (does not matter the brand they are all over seas) Good aftermarket posi and even leaving the stock axles as long as they are bolt in B.O.P. style your ok.

If you have a Chevy c-clip you have to get alloy axles. Unless you want to take a chance with the rea 1/4 damage IF the axle does decide to give up.

NOW if you can afford a better rear- DO IT. That money is well spent.

BUT if you are a guy that spends 10K plus on the motor and alot on everything else and then cheap on on a rear cause it is not a glamorous part of the car...WELL shame on you as the car will still end up on the side of the road sooner or later and need a tow froma jealous tow truck employee that will not give a damn about what happens to your car. :) Jim

Just a seed to plant in your head.... :)
