    Hi everyone.

I have a switch pitch T400 in need of a torque converter. I want a switch pitch converter. Now that Poston is out of business, I can't find a source for new ones.

Anyone know of a source for new/rebuilt switch pitch converters?

Copying my reply to your first post:

The only "new" variable pitch converter is an NOS converter, they haven't been manufactured since the late 1960's, so original or rebuilt or rebuilt & modified are your options. And trust me, you don't want a PAE converter anyway. I can elaborate if necessary.

For a variable pitch converter modified the right way, contact Jim Weise:

I had my switch pitch 400 rebuilt and put a stock rebuilt converter in it, works fine. I wanted more stall so I got JW to fix one for me, it is great lots more stall with it. So if you want a stock replacement switch pitch converter for your 400 turbo I would sell mine. I couldn't have 500 miles on it, I drive the car very little. $100 plus shipping.

Trishield Performance is the way to go.I have purchased a switch pitch & a race converter from JW.I have been very satisfied with both.Had a switch pitch coverter from another vendor a few years back, and it toasted my motor & tranny.
