Attached are pictures of the current progress of my engine pull project.
The engine bay & suspension has been painted. Had to purchase & install a new centre link.
Heater core has been replaced. That was a real pain reinstalling the inside heater box!
    Fender liners have been painted.
Today, my buddy's son, Chad, attended and we started work . We removed the rockers, replaced valve stem seals on both heads, and replaced the buttons on the rocker shaft passenger side, and will finish the driver's side tomorrow. We are taking our time.
We removed the harmonic balancer, the distributor & fuel pump. We removed the front cover and I believe that the cover seal was the original - looked like a rope in the seal.
Some of the block is repainted as are the pan and rocker covers.
Also, tomorrow, we tackle the rear main seal.
    The work continues.
As u know, I replaced the cam expansion plug. I also determined that the oil drain plug was leaking. I had to file the drain plug hole flat & smooth.

Well, we continued working on the driver side rockers by replacing the old, brittle plugs on the shaft and reinstalled the rocker assembly.
Next we tackled the rear main seal. We removed and replaced the rear main seal. The old seal pieces had been installed flush with the ends flush with the mounting surfaces. It was somewhat difficult inserting the new seal pieces about the cap, but we succeeded. It did take some time.
Tomorrow I intend to clean up the front cover and prepare to paint it. I also must go to UPS in Detroit to pick up the new water pump and PCV hose from T/A performance.

Yesterday, I installed the fender liners with no problems. Easy to do with wheels off & no engine. Earlier, I had purchased new tapered end bolts for the liners.
Today, we installed the centre head, the front cover, new water pump and fuel pump. Gaskets are Fel-Pro with ultra black sealant. Friday, we will install the oil pan.
Then I will, using a modified & stripped old distributor, be sure that I have oil pressure. If all goes well, the engine + transmission will refill the engine bay.
Still have a little paint touch up. Also awaiting a shifter cable from Tazman
