has anyone ever considered or heard of cryo tempering rods? i'm considering it, but can't find anyone that has pros or cons to it. any info. is appreciated.
there's some information about cryo tempering at www.cryodyne.com. i found a guy locally that can get them done for about $75. seems like cheap insurance if it helps the integrity of the rods at all. just a thought though.

There are lots of benefits to cryo treating engine parts. We have been doing cryo for quite a few years locally. A full cryo treatment consists of both a cooling and heating process.

DO IT!!! I was sold the day I walked into my machine shop I use and a ford guy that runs circle track brought in a bent rod from his 351 I believe. Point is, they never broke, which saved the block, crank, pan and so forth. Cryo treating the metal realigns the grain structure and is said to add about 20% strength to the metal.
Side note: my block and crank are treated but my rods are Crower 7.1"
