Hello. A generous friend has offerred to give me a cam. Crane part number: 85H000006. Crane grind number: H-234/325-2-12. Lift @ .050 is 234/244. Lift (1.6 rocker) is 520/542. Advertised duration is 304/314. Anyone have iny useful information for me? It is going in a car with 4.10 gears (soon), Al stg. 1 heads (good valve job only), performer, 1-7/8 headers, 800 q-jet. Converter will be upgraded from current 2100 soon. Driven daily. I don't mind if the idle is a little silly. Thanx for any info.
hello The card does not say "lobe seperation." It does have 2 sections that say cam timing. Here is the "@ .004" section. Intake-opens @ 41 BTDC, closes @ 83 ABDC, Adv. Duration, 304/314. Exhaust-opens @ 90 BBDC, closes @ 44 ATDC. Now I will list the whole "@ .050" section. Intake opens 10 BTDC, closes @ 44 ABDC, 107 max lift, 234 duration. Exhaust opens @ 59 BBDC, closes @ 5 ATDC, 117 max lift, 244 duration. Crane e-mailed me the cam card. I do not know how to attach it to a thread/reply. Thanx for the help.
im not that educated to figure out all that, maybe call them, it seems to me to be a costom grind? i cant find that cam listed. but it looks like a good profile for a hot street- strip cam.
I can copy/paste card? lets try Crane Camshaft Specification Card Part Number: 85H000006 Grind Number: H-234/325-2-12 Engine Ident: 1967-1976 BUICK V-8 400-430-455 CU.IN. Centerline (actually lobe separation angle) is found from the intake and exhaust centerlines, 107 and 117 respectively. LSA is (117+107)/2 = 112 deg., with 5 deg advance built in. Overlap is from int and exh duration at 0.050" and LSA: (234+244)/2 - 2x112 = 15 deg. Idle will be a nice lope but certainly streetable, i.e. vacuum brakes will work ok, etc., but she'll hit a nice lick!!! This will be a nice cam.
hello Thanx for the info/your time Scott. Its new & free, I am running it. Hopefully it is a terror. Ir not, I'll swap it out. Thanx again.
