So, do ya'll think these look OK? It had the 72 road wheels on it last year. I guess it's kind of late in the year to finally get her out of the garage........ just never enough time to drive em all. Mike
WoW Mike - those look great! I would not have guessed it, but seeing them on the car ...:eek2: What size/backspace do you have? Is that the 67 LeSabre? - Bill
Looks like garbage.... you should sell those wheels now (cheap). Take what you can get for them. In fact I could help out there:Brow: Truth is that wheel is the only one that looks better than stock. It is just a great classic wheel and it looks great on your car.
Thanks guys........... I don't remember what the backspacing is on them. My brother bought the wheels and tires and donated them to the car.... I think he sank a grand in them :eek2: . No plans for the road wheels yet....but we have a dozen or so old Buicks laying around that I am sure they will find themselves on one of them. Mike
I like it! My mom had a 66 painted similar with a black vinyl top when I was younger. We got hit in the 1/4 and it caved it in bad enough that it wasn't able to be fixed.I can remember me and my 2 sisters crying while they hauled it away.It was like a major part of our family was taken away.Guess thats where the love for Buicks came from. That, and the fact my dad worked at a Buick dealership at the time.I remember seeing an orange with white top and white interior 1972 GS and a light green 1972 GS on that lot.Wonder whatever happened to them? Pat
WOW! Mike, Though I was never a fan of the Cragar SS even back in the day, I have to concede that they do look nice on your LeSabre! Just don't try that with Keystone Classics. uzzled:
Mike, Very nice ride! The first car I bought (68 Camaro) had Cragar SS's, so I'll always have a soft spot for them. I just wish they hadn't changed to the one piece design. Is that Riviera red? I'm still searching for paint colors, and I really like your color.
Mike, That is one sweet ride! And the SS's look great! Bring that thing to the Quad Cities and we'll cruise the one-ways and pick-up chicks in Davenport (if my wife will let me).
The LeSabre is the original color, Burgundy Mist. the Riv Red was a bit brighter. Thank you! Mike
We don't have too many nice cars that cruise any more. Alot of them show up for the cruise night once a week (about 200 or so), but the Avenue is mostly full of mustang 5.0's and daytona winged Honda's. Mike
Mike, I know what you mean. Back in the day (late 70's) we used to drive up and down 23rd Ave. in Moline, and hang out in Sears parking lot. There were always some beautiful cars hanging around. These days you get a ticket for that (in Moline anyway). It's a shame. I had a nice 71 El Camino in those days, even made it to Cedar Rapids now & then.
Rusty: Thanks :TU: Rick: Back in 77-78 or so there were all kinds of muscle cruising around on the weekends. Even Saturday afternoons we would cruise through Ellis Park and there would be hundred of old cars....lots with blowers. Now you can go through the park and maybe....maybe see one guy sitting on his Harley taking a nap. Right now the cruise nights are all that is left for the old V8 muscle cars.Maybe next summer we should plan a central region picnic of some kind and all meet up. Mike
That's a good idea Mike. A picnic would be a great way to meet some of the fine folks here.:beer I bet there would be some nice cars too.
i've got a couple sets of this type wheel, and have always liked the look. but i am pretty impressed with the way your car looks with the stock wheels. maybe because bigger cars need a more subtle look [imho] or maybe because the bright chrome is a bad match for the dark colors of the Le Sabre. still a great car:TU:
