If it is a 350,all you need to do to check to see if its the original motor is take off your power steering pump and look on the block there. There will be a number stamped on the block there. You may have to scrape(lightly) and use a rag with some kind of cleaner(carb cleaner)and you should find the numbers that match the last digits of your vin(may be hard to see,use a light). You can't always go by rear gears or disc brakes on the 350 either.Look on the side of the trans case and you will also see a raised area that is around 1 inch long by about 1/4 inch, there will be numbers there that should match your vin also. The next step is to locate the 2 digit letters on the block that are below the head between the front 2 spark plugs on the block.Again, take care scraping and use a flashlight to see better.YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NUMBERS ON THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK AND THE TRANS TO BE 167772 as in your vin The engine code between the plugs should be TB to be a correct 350 motor for a vert.
