Does anyone know where I could find how to decode a cowl trim tag from my '72 GS?? Or do I need a Body Service Manual for that? If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Take a pic or post it. We will do it. That is shorter than trying to explain. If you do not use a pic please post all the info as oriented on the tag.

Ok, Sorry for not replying right away... was busy with fireworks:grin:

Here is the tag. I tried to take a pic of it, but couldnt get it to focus right.

    Typed out:

    Body By Fisher

    ST72 73437FL1 106023BDY
    TR 108 65 B PNT
    11E A52

    Thanks in advance!

    I suspect the "7" is a "4"

72 GS hardtop , flame orange with a black vinyl top and black interior, built the last week of November of 1971.

To Expand on what Jim stated -

    ST72 - style 1972
    73437 (should be 43437) - Buick (4) GS (34) 2 door coupe (37)
FL1 - Flint MI Fisher Body plant
106023 BDY - body #, no relation to VIN, used for internal Fisher tracking.

TR 108 - Trim code - black benck seat interior
65 B PNT - Flame Orange (65) black vinyl top (B) paint code
    11E - Fisher finished assembly 5th week (E) November (11) 1971
A52 - Straight bench seat, no armrest.

    OMG - Yes that is a "4", I wrote it down as a 4, but typed 7...

Thanks Marco and flyn for decoding this info for me, I appreciate it greatly. I still have to get the Sloan documentation yet, but I WILL do that:pp
