Here goes... 1969 Skylark Convertible. I'm trying to install the courtesy light bulbs in the socket in the rear convertible armrests. The original owners manual calls for a #212-1 bulb. Try finding that one. Guy at auto parts store says that the #90 is the same. It just won't twist in. It's a 2 contact bulb and both lugs are even from the bottom of the bulb. The socket looks the same inside. Is the # 90 the right one ?
Finally figured it out. The small metal tabs holding the socket into the chrome plate were bent inward catching on the edge of the metal part of the bulb. # 90 is right.
When you first use those new bulbs keep a close watch on your covers. The counter man at NAPA cost me a NOS Trishield cover on my 69 it melted .
