Hello, I purchaced a parts car this weekend a 67 Riviera, needed some spare parts for my original one, anyway, I have'nt seen one with these part so am wondering if it was added by the owner. It is a real nice passenger mirror under the passenger sun visor. It is about 4.5 " x 8" and has th GM logo in the corner. Was this a dealer installed or factory, or just the owner? Could you help? Visor Mirror Visor mirrors were an accessory item that could be purchased from a dealer. There are two types - one with spring steel clips that slid onto the visor, and one that had nylon grommets that fit pre-located holes in the visor and steel pins on the back of the mirror that pushed into the nylon grommets. They came non-generic with a GM logo, or they could have Buick, or 'Buick is a beauty too' etched into the upper left hand corner of the mirror. You see them frequently on evilBay for $20 to $40, and a few have turned up on this site in the 4 Sale section. :TU:
Glenn: Please put your name in your signature, otherwise we will forget it after a few posts :TU: I just looked in my (absolutley brand new) 1967 Riviera Owner's Manual, but not a word about the mirror option. But Randy already told you all about it, I was just looking for an image of this option to place online. If there's something in the Owner's Manual you want a scan from, just tell me. Did your car come with the Speed Alert and/or Electro-Cruise Control option ? Post a few photos of the car please, or mail them to me and I'll be happy to show them in this thread for you. I remember! When I first got my 71...20 years ago, it had a spring clip style mirror on the passenger visor, and at the bottom of the mirrior, in elegant script, it said "Buick is a beauty, too"
This is not held on by either, it it secured by a 3x6 thin 2 sided tape, it has not been off since new , it is gm style tape from the day. The original owner said he thinks it was there since new, but never put the pass. visor down, so not fully sure. Any other ideas?
