    Howdy,

I'm a hybrid member of this and the turbo6 world. I'm putting together a peice of classic Buick Iron with the turbo6 as power. However money is short and the Power Tour 2006 deadline is looming large even from 8 months away. I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut some corners temporarily to get the car functional by the tour.
I really want the overdrive of the TH200-4R but one of those to take the power is a good $1500 or so. The other option is the TH400, infact the car originally came with that though in nailhead boltpattern. I know what it takes to get it to run under booste but how much will a bone stock shorttail TH400 take powerwise and how much would one run me?
Is this the place to be saving money or should I be looking at cutting money out of the turbo budget to get a good tranny?

    Thanks,

I'd say you'd better get a good trany before a turbo. You can get rebuilt th-400's with some beefed up internals for under $1000. About 600 stock.
