I am about to purchase a 70 GS that is Cortez Gold and I was curious if this was a big color on this type of car.

    Please have some patience.

Some of us have the Daily Car Reports from the Sloan Museum, and these reports would contain the information you're looking for.

You can order them from Sloan directly...or you can wait until we get home from work :beer

Also, hardtop or convertible? If a hardtop, is it a GS350 ar GS455. I only have the GS455 info...

I970GS455 For the love of Buicks...

There are a couple of gold colors for that year. I have a desert gold one, but just running that by you just in case you didnt know....... Cortez is a sweet color :TU:

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

My first GS was a Cortez Gold GS350. I'd still have that car today if a 17 year old kid didn't try to drive straight across a highway without stopping(with traffic moving @50MPH). The drivetrain went into one of my '72 Skylarks and is still running around in NJ somewhere.

    I see 3 different golds available in 1970 -

    Cornet (55)
    Harvest (58)
    Desert (63)

No Cortez in 1970, but I see it in 1971 (53)

Hey Guy, how's your Stage 2 coming along?

    Show us some pictures! Thanks!

P.S. My Stage 1 is also code 63. I know on the production list it shows Buick only built 54(code 63) cars.

Imagine how many of those were Stage 1's?

    Carl-
stage2 car is coming right along, although i haven't worked on it this summer, it will be finished by spring. right now the glass is all in, trunk is finished, wiring is in, interior mostly done. still need to put the drivetrain in and bolt the front sheetmetal on....boy that sounds simple, should have it done in two weeks....NOT!!! :eek2:
    thanks! Guy
