I'm paying the money for a wiper motor restoration and wanted to have him add the sticker with the part number, Julian Date and shift info. My car is a third week of January 1969 build. Any advice as to what would be correct would be greatly appreciated. Cheers and best regards, Mike
Terry, I was hoping to hear from you as I've been admiring your restoration. My build date is 01D, so only two months earlier. How did you choose 2 weeks early for your wiper motor date and what does the B trailing the shift represent? Very curious because I'd like it to be accurate for the money it costs. I already had to pass on the wiper motor I had on the car for 20 plus years because it looks to be from a big car even thou I loved the case with a cool embossed letter because it doubt its the original. Thanks so much for the photo and info and any additional advice would be great. Like your approach with the Harrison radiator tanks. Cheers, Mike
The “B” is the shift code, would be A,B or C but I have never seen C. The number before the B is the line number in this case 1, but I’ve seen lots of other numbers. The guy who rebuilt the motor knew how long to back date from the car. Hope that helps.
They only have so many dates of those stickers available, so you pick the one that pre-dates the body build date and go with it. Duane
Duane, I think that is true for the re-sell places, Parts Place, Cars etc, but Steve Hackell who rebuilt mine makes the decal based upon your car dates as I had to supply them to him. His sticker is different than those you can buy on-line. I bought one just in case and it is different. He rebuilds many for the corvette crazy guys and I am sure they want it down to julian days...lol
