I just wanted to point out what I thought was THE coolest car at the BPG Nats.
Jim Ramsey's 70 Stage 1 is painfully original. It's not what most folks would consider "pretty," but, in my eyes, there was no more beautiful car there. Duane went over it with his usual fine-toothed comb, and every piece of front end sheet metal is original by part #/date code.
Jim also raced the car all weekend (when he wasn't up to his elbows in grease taking the lead in Wolverine's motor swap!)
    Kudos, Jim!!

    Tires

I'm a big fan of Sherwood Poly. Actually, the car had the same tires all the way around when I photographed it at Salem.

    Re: Tires

I like it too. My 2nd GS was a Sherwood Grn/blk vinyl top 70 350 car. Love the contrast of the red GS emblem on the green

That car got hit by a city dump truck driver on his first day on the job! Got $700 from the city for the damage, and traded the damaged car for the first paint job on the Burgundy Mist car.

    Ahhhh, the memories...

I too admired this car in Salem.......parked along side
"THE ENGINE SWAP"... didnt know who owned it.
One thing was clear, they were "die hard" Buick...and were much more concerned with having fun than polishing chrome!

Gotta love a guy who drives it to the strip with a trunk full of tires and stuff, then runs it like he stole it...

He deserves a BIG thumbs up!:TU:

hmmm, lets see, a sherwood green 70 stage 1 with a black top. if the good lord made a better looking car, he must have kept it for himself.

with kevins blue car sitting there, and johns ? red car sitting there, i kept thinking i was at home in my backyard.

i did see one other sherwood beauty, you know the one, in concours, black convertible top, black buckets. what i wouldnt give to own both those cars.
