In the world of performance convertors what makes a convertor more effecient than another, and can that level of effeciency be made at a certain rpm level? TIA Rick
Probably fin angles on the impeller, stator and turbine. What you want in a street converter is efficiency. driving a loose high stall converter on the street is no fun. Best case scenario is a converter that doesn't slip in normal driving around town, but stalls much higher when you jump on it. In the world of converters, you get what you pay for. If you can supply all the details of your build to a good converter company, they can get really close to what you need.
Thanks Larry, my brother has a ss slp camaro (I think thats right) he wants around a 3000 stall but still wants to drive on the street. His biggest concern is the wife he doesn't want an issue with her and driving quality. He has looked at Vigilanty and one other the name slips the aging mind. He wants exactly what you said normal driving then mash it and have 3000 stall. Thanks Rick
