I need to install new material on the windshield bow on my convertible. Who makes it? Where can I get it? Is it self adhesive?

You could get it from an auto upholstery shop or order from year one. I got mine from Year One and it needs to be glued on the top of the windshield bow.
    Hope that helps you out.

This piece is made of top material same as your c top. Go to your local upholstery shop and they should scraps to give to you. If not go to an upholstery supplier and buy a piece new. Ken

I do not think so if you are saying the material matches the fabric on the stock top.

If you mean the windshield header, you need some black vinyl(not conv material). Get that at any auto trim shop or you local auto upholsterer. You only need a piece about 4-5" wide. Go to Home Depot and get their spray adhesive glue made by 3M. Costs about $12-13 a can. It is rubber contact cement. Mask off the header and spray it, let it dry. Spray the vinyl backside and let it dry.
Have an assistant hold one end and you the other. Keep the vinyl in tension and slowly lower it on the header. Use your hand to smooth out any wrinkles/air bubbles.

Does that material extend past the chrome top holdown socket? Anyone kind enough to take a closeup picture of the corner of the header looking down and post it so I could see how it is finished off in that area? I am about to do the same replacement. Thanks

    Len,
What you need is a piece of black "Madrid" grain vinyl. It was used on GM cars from 1965-1975 so it should be very easy to find.

    Duane is right as usual.
The material covers the entire header. You need to remove the window trim, anchors, underside covers, pillar post trim, etc.
You want the vinyl to cover the header and then attach the trim. The material will go under the stainless windshield trim. I will see if I can take some pics tonight.

Thanks guys. I'll check some local upholstery shops before I go to Year One.

Legendary Auto Interiors. Ordered one in burnished saddle and it matched the original and my interior exactly. They have all colors.
