    So I cheated with a non buick brand. This one was one of the "other cars" I saw while being flaked on by a handful of Buick sellers. (I wont call them owners, because they obviously didnt have the same spirit as the crowd here.)
    (Okay they are down there a bit. not sure how to get them up here on a edit)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    My thanks to everyone for helping out. I found one I like and will post details and maybe a picture (if I can figure that out) once the weather is nice enough to pull it out of the garage.

    Ok so I just cant seem to find what I want now. I had a deal in place on a 66 wildcat GS convertible, with a deposit, and the guy sold it to someone else.

    And I am not seeing many more unique'esque Buick convertibles around.

    So here are my wants
    1. Convertible
    2. Preferred years 64 to 67. Though 60 to 72 might be considered.
    3. Full Size
    3a. Any 'A' body (skylark etc.) must have tilt wheel. (way to many beers over the last couple of decades.)
    4. Not anything everyday. (ie unique'esque)
    5. I am in Michigan and tend to view the car choices as a balance between coolness and distance.
    6. Also, I don't have the space for a project. And I am more into a numbers match then any sort of MOD.
    7. If you PM me, please include a link to your listing.

    Call it 23k. It needs to be in my garage for a bit more then that. ie shipping (if required.)

    Found another limitation.

    A Buick Electra 225 is to long for my garage by about 2 inches. its 224.8 inches and I have about 223.0 inches available. (after the door and drywall, yes drywall)

    I would think you could find a VERY nice 65-66 Wildcat well within your budget. Wait for the right car.

    Please put your name in your signature, we are all here on a friendly first name base :TU:
    Since you're looking for a car: You can also add your location to the upper right corner of your posts :Smarty:
    (I know that you mentioned that you're from Michigan)

    And don't forget to introduce yourself in the Wet behind the ears?? of the board.

    A 1970 (last year) Electra 225 Custom convertible is even longer: 226 inches.
    But, a model year 1964 Electra 225 is 222.8 inches :bglasses:

    1965 = 224.1 inches
    1966 = 223.4 inches
    1967 = 223.9 inches
    1968 = 224.9 inches
    1969 = 22*.* inches :Do No: (Maybe that's where your 224.8 inches are from?)

    My 66 Electra is for sale, it's a driver: 103,000 miles, rebuilt 401, transmission and cooling system, (2009) new rag(2010), new tires, front brakes & wheel cylinders. The bad points; - 20 yr. old amateur paint-job, original upholstery is good but dirty in the back, shot in the front. Bumpers could use a straightening and a rechrome, but the car is presentable as is. Options; power windows, seat, antenna, trunk,top, factory AM/FM. The 401 was rebuilt completely to dead-stock specs, but has the rare Quadra-jet manifold and carb on it.

    This car is reliable now, it does 3000 miles a year, 1000 of that on a regular run through the Rockies to the coast.

    First $15,000.00 OBO takes it...

    I have found different spec's sites can vary by as much as a inch... And I don't remember for sure, but .8 could have been a .9 typo.
    Yes I know everything online has to be true, its like a rule. "Bonjur"
    But I am not a magical fount of Buick knowledge, I mostly like the way Buick does its chrome and highlights.

    As for Wet behind my ears; I'll get there eventually. Between the kids at home and the children at work I am lucky I can manage these 6 sentences.

    Nice find. Thanks.

    I talked to him around 2pm edt, got a video chat going between phones for a bit, sure not a awesome way to see details and he lost power before we could finish.

    He did mention that the seats have been customized with "D65." Its is 401ci engine with the Super Turbine 400 transmission. As well a a slight leak around edge of the convertible top when it rains.
    His name starts with a D btw. And does anyone know if a "slight leak around the edge" means a new top is needed or maybe there is just a seal that can be replaced?

    After further conversation, his terms are greenbacks in hand only. No wire transfer or cashiers checks. Personally I have no idea how to get more then $5k through airport security without it getting seized.

    Where are you located?

    I might have spoke to soon. Looks as if the car is listed by a third party in Omaha but the car is in Savage MN.
