converter seating...??

    i was wondering what u had to do to seat the converter to a transmission...i have never done this before...trans is a 200r4 if there is an exception with this one..thx

    Pour a quart of ATF into the converter snout. Then put the converter on the input shaft. Push, and turn the converter, then push again. There are 2 or 3 sets of splines that must line up. Just turn the converter and push, and repeat until the converter is seated. You'll know it is seated when the flywheel mounting surface of the converter is below the bell housing to engine flange.

    Do what Larry said...Also, I look inside the front pump and move the drive lugs that fit into the convertor slots to the 12 & 6 position. That gives you a good place to start and usually the convertor will slip right in.

    it doesnt matter HOW u put it on, bc my auto tech instructor said that u had to line some splines up and if u didnt then u would have to replace the pump...i dont know :Do No:
