How?? I plan on using an aftermarket shifter, hurst/bm so that would be new..can i just mount on floor(havnt pulled up carpet yet to see) can i still use same cable or do i need a diffrent one, from what, what would it do to the prnd21 on inst cluster if i convert, dont really care bout that part, just wondering, car is an 85 regal w/ 455 and th400, was told its simple but when i asked what i need i got the " i dont know but its easy" reply. thanks for your time, john.

john its pretty strait forward.the shifter if you buy it new will have all the bracketry and the cable in the kit. as far as mounting to the floor you may have to fabricate a base for it. i put a b&m quicksilver ratchet shifter in my skylark. since i was not useing factory seats and built my own console the location was probably a little diffrent in my car. if you buy your shifter 2nd hand be sure to get any and all instructions and all bracketry,as there are diffrent brackets with several diffrent attatchment points for the cable. brackets for a th350 are diffrent than a th400. also make sure you don't get the cable in a bind and everything should be o.k. :3gears:

Cool, thanks, didnt know the cable came with the new shifter, i think the ratchet was one i was looking at, i can have the guy at work whip me up a bracket if needed, just thought it would be more involved, john.
